In case you are in Aspen and can't decide which slope to go for, you should know that the Aspen Skiing Company operates the whole area and can tell you which resort to choose. Ajax, for instance, is a mountain about 3000 ft tall, which is very very steep. On Buttermilk Mountain, skiing and snowboarding are practiced on gentle slopes, so this place is more adequate for the beginners.
