They actually have a monument dedicated to marathon in Boston?(give a different answer) .
Of all the places in the world, except maybe for Greece :), Boston is the best fit to have such a monument. They have almost a dozen marathons and half marathons each year there. The Boston Marathon Monument is on the sidewalk of Boylston street. not far away you will find a bronze cast of the famous Tortoise and the Hare popular tale.
