Boston, The Great Molasses Flood

It happened almost 100 years ago, in 1919. A huge tank of molasses belonging to an amo factory downtown exploded and 2 million gallons of mollasses invaded the streets killing people and taking houses away. The stench of it remained for years, and people say that on certain days you can still smell it. But I doubt it :)
