Yes, trolley is a choice, but the problem is it doesn't cover a wide area...most links are from Charlotte Convention Center to a couple of neighborhoods in southern uptown. Better catch the Gold Rush shuttle, it's a free red bus wandering through the entire city. I took it one day by mistake, but when I saw the no-need-for-tickets miracle, I asked the driver for a map, studied its route and jumped in daily!
