Across from Ala Moana Shopping Center there is Ala Moana Beach Park, which includes bathhouses, showers, lifeguards and tennis courts. The waters are calm and great for swimming. The Hanauma Bay is a marine preserve with beatiful coral reefs & blue waters. It's a 30 min drive ( or $1 bus ride) east of Waikiki.
