Fort DeRussy Beach and Queen's surf are the best options in Waikiki. The first oone ocupies the largest part of Waikiki Beach and has several facilities as picnic tables, showers, food stands and dressing rooms. The second is just across Honolulu Zoo, and it has plenty of picnic tables and shade trees. I would go for the Fort DeRussy as the former attracts some strange individuals ( gay & lesbian!!! outrageous, if you ask me)
