My favorite comedy club in LA, and I don't know if it is the best, is Groundlings, (on Melrose Ave). I like its low-down ambiance and the fact that this improvisation school and company has launched the careers of Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Will Ferrell and other big names. The best moments are on Thursday - s improvisation night when the club gathers the main company, former students and surprise guests. Take a look on the club's website at www.groundlings.com.
