There is the Lotus Festival that, for 25 years, has been celebrating the people and cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands. It takes place on the weekend following July 4 in Echo Park, centrally located near Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Korea Town, and the Filipino communities. Over 100,000 people attend the Lotus Festival, many of them from cultures other than that of Asia or the Pacific Islands. Do look for more information on the website: www.laparks.org.
