Patinette Cafe (phone: 213-626-1178, www.patinagroup) is not somehing extravagant or romantic. But sitting at a table in the outdoor patio while waiting for the waiter to bring you a good French sandwich with some salad can make the day seem nicer. Maybe the imaginative menu is due to the location of the cafe: the Museum of Contemporary Art.
