Getting around Los Angeles by taxi

Posted 1 year ago by jiro in response to avatar highlander's question: How can I travel around LA faster? Are the taxi rates expensive? (give a different answer) .

Well, taxi fares are metered and cost 2 dollars at flag fall plus 1.80 dollar a mile. You can find cabs lined up up outside airports, train stations, bus stations and major hotels or by phone call. The major taxi companies in LA are Checker, Independent and Yellow Cab. You can call the latter at this phone no: 800-200-1085
