The Metro Rail in LA has four rail lines, three of them going Downtown. All the rail stations are operated by Metro buses too. There is the Blue line from Downtown to Long Beach, the Gold Line, from Downtown's Union Station to Pasadena, Green Line, from Norwalk to Redondo Beach and the Red Line- it's the subway going from Downtown's Union Station to San Fernando Valley. You can pick up weekly passes for 14 dollars or monthly passes for 52 dollars from the many locations around town, including supermarkets. Check the website for more details: www.metro.net.
