There is a place called Red Carpet Inn on South Hurstbourne Parkway, it's far away from Louisville and you can only drive or take a cab there. I believe it's part of the Red Roof chain, and if you book online, like I did, you can get a room for $38. It's a great price, but this a highway hotel and there isn't much to expect. It's reasonably clean, with decent facilities for the price, and nothing more.
