It's said to be the "greatest two minutes" in sports. Anyway, it's the oldest sporting event in America and takes place on the first Saturday in May. Tickets cost 40$ for standing and in case you want to reach the seating area, you have to book far ahead at 502-636-4400. On the day of the competition, the track is open to the public between 7-10 AM, so you can get to see the contenders train. Celebrations continue with the Great Hot Air Baloon Race, fireworks and live concerts for 11 days.
