general's question: How about East Village in New York City? is it an area worth visiting?(give a different answer) .
Although it isn't what it once used to be, East Village in NYC still guards some of the atmosphere depicted in Rent-the movie, and Physical Graffiti of the Led Zeppelin. Tompkins Square Park, ancient home for the homeless and the drug-addicts, The Bowery St, or the Nuyorican Poets Cafe are some of the places that can remind of the "black" period.
