The oldest art museum in the US is in Philly?(give a different answer) .
I'm not exactly sure whether it is the oldest art museum, but the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts is definitely the oldest art institution in the US. It is housed in one of the finest buildings in the city on Cherry street and for 5 $ you can get in and see the incredible art collections
