Yes, it is true. It's actually the largest conglomeration of religious buildings in the US, and it was built in the 19th century along the San Antonio River. The missions now stand as one of the most important reminder of the times when Spain tried to expand into North America. Another interesting thing is the fact that all the missions are nowadays active churches. Architecture is unique. Worth visiting. Mission San Jose was the most impressive in my opinion ...
