I once served lunch (a delicious one) at the Mai's, in the Richmond neighborhood. The restaurant was a small one, but even so I found a free table for me (and that's because it was noon... in the evening I heard it's good to go earlier or to book in advance). Also note that between 3pm & pm the staff from Mail's takes a break.
