listo in response to saly's question:
Can anybody that reached Chinatown in San Francisco describe it a bit for me? Thank you.(give a different answer) .
Personally the entrance itself, through a giant dragon-crowned gate, impressed me. Then, it's the striking atmosphere, with neon and ersatz Disney architecture, with narrow hectic alleys, cheap eateries and overwhelming fragrances. You'll find spring rolls, bamboo chicken and herbal cures everywhere, most of all gathered along the Grant Ave, between Bush and Jackson Streets. They remind, somewhat, of the 1800's opium pubs, brothels and gambling. You're likely to hear a bizarre language as well, coz Cantonese is still spoken by many.
