San Francisco's Chinatown hosts the Kong Chow Temple

Posted 1 year ago by avatar dulio in response to soriane's question: I think I would like to see how a Chinese temple looks. Is there any in San Francisco? (give a different answer) .

The Chinese people from San Francisco think that Kong Chow symbolizes honesty and trust... that's why in 1851 they've built him a temple (in Chinatown, 855 Stockton St.). Each of the altars has a different color representing either longevity (this is green) or keeping away the evil spirits (red). Go up to the temple's balcony to admire the neighbourhood.
