julia's question: i mainly visit churches when gping to a town. So I would be most grateful if somebody let me know which are the most important churches in savannah.(give a different answer) .
Apart from the many traditional historic monument it hosts, Savannah is proud to be the origin of many churches that bear an important significance for the history of the state. For instance, The First African Baptist Church, on Montgomery Street is very important as it dates back 150 years. Moreover, it's the oldest African-American church built by slaves in North America. It's open from Monday to Friday, from 10 to 3.
