Well, that's what we all did, right? I moved to Seattle years ago, and I'm still here cause things are ok as far as gay acceptance goes. There are many places you can get in touch with gays: clubs, discos, bars ... I usually go to this place on Broadway avenue called Elite, a nice disco where I get together with my friends. A bar you can hang out during the day is the Wildrose on Pike street.
