Chang O'Hara's Bistro, St. Paul - hosts jazz & blues acts

I share the same hobby with you. and perhaps another two million people :)) So here's a suggestion: Chang O'Hara's Bistro (498 Selby Ave). The only disadvantage is that is almost always crowded, but that's understandable, 'cause it hosts one of the Twin Cities' hottest jazz or blues acts. Not just a blues bar... it offers up a fine menu that includes everything from the usual "pub grub" to a few Asian-cum-Ireland specialties. Feel free to find a seat near one of the fireplaces and sip your favorite beer or wine to the crackling of wood.
